ABOUT SARA

I am an independent nonprofit operations consultant whose passion is to work with small and medium sized nonprofit organizations to ensure that they develop and sustain effective operations practices from the get-go, creating a solid foundation for programs to grow on. I believe mission-driven organizations are at their best when internal operations function effectively and with clarity, allowing staff to stay focused on their core programmatic functions.

 

I am a 20-year veteran [survivor] of nonprofit operations work, with a wide range of experience across a variety of essential functions, including finance, human resources, and all other administrative/operations processes. I have served in director-level roles at public radio, arts orgs, and social services orgs, honing and developing efficient systems for getting the work done and the reporting out, while ensuring compliance with established best practices, board expectations, and nonprofit audit and monitoring needs. I have completed 15+ successful annual nonprofit audit processes, made it through two major capital campaigns, and still have a husband and friends!

 

I am a Seattle native who spent her early years knocking around the area’s record stores and music venues, and currently live in Pittsburgh with my woodworker/DJ husband and a multitude of pets, enjoying gardening with native plants, playing cribbage, porch sitting, and collecting records and tattoos.
